Add Multiple Uploaded Files to a Binder

You can now add multiple uploaded files to a binder at the same time.  This should make it much faster to build binders with files from your local PC or school network.

DashboardTo use this new feature, go to your “My Binders” page and click on “My Uploaded Files” in the dashboard on the left.

You can upload your files there and then use the check boxes on the left to check all the files that you want to add to a binder.

Once you have selected the files that you want in a binder, click “Add to Binder” above the file list.

Checking off binders

You will see a “LiveBinder It” interface pop up with a list of your selected file names.  You can add the files to main tabs or subtabs by clicking on the appropriate selection and then clicking “Add to Binder.”

  1. I just wonder if once you upload your files to livebinder and then you assign the files to different binders, can you delete the uploaded files once assigned to binders. If you delete these files will they also be deleted from the binders.

Second if you do not delete the uploaded files can you organize the uploaded files in a folder so you have a folder that contains files that are assigned to a binder. I noticed you can upload individual files as separate files but not a folder with all its content as when you copy and later paste a folder in one click. It would be nice to have this feature in livebinder so you can have the option of creating a folder in the database.

  2. Once you upload the files it would be nice if you have the option to arrange them in folders. You should be given the ability to create a folder and put your files in folders. Do you delete the uploaded files once assigned to binders or these files should remain in the uploaded section. If you delete these uploaded files will they also be deleted from the binders.

    1. You can manage all your uploaded files from the Uploads page: You must be logged in to see that page. From there you can add uploaded files to binders and delete them. If you delete a file from that page, it will warn you about which binders contain that file. If you continue with the delete, it will remove that file from the binder.

I like your enhancement request of having folders on our system so that you can organize your uploaded files. I will add that to our list.

  3. It would be helpful to be able to upload these files to a specific sub tab. For example, I have a sub tab named “Comprehension” and under that I have sub tabs for “task cards” “powerpoints” and “graphic organizers.” It would save me a great deal of time to be able to move multiple uploaded files directly to the appropriate sub tab rather than all to “Comprehension” and then have to use the “move under” for each one.

    1. Hi Sharon, thank you for your input. We are working on that feature and hope to have it out very soon. If you subscribe to this blog, you will see the announcement when it comes out.

Thank you again for letting us know what you would like to see in the product!
